Journal Entry # 6

Continuing with the awe of Mondo, I came across his logo. I really like this and think it’s just a really cool design, Its classy and modern and it just looks plain cool. What’s great about it is I bet it will look great in almost any color and its interesting to look at. It looks somewhat alive, but it’s not too intricate. I also believe his logo embodies the style of the art just as well. Mondo-Logo1

I’m not sure if Mondo is a style of art or if it’s the name of the artist, but i‘m a big fan of the work. They usually have portraits or poster designs of either pop culture icons or comic book characters. The style is usually beautifully bright solid colors that look amazing when large. Maybe that’s why it’s called Mondo. Anyways, stumbled along this gem for the 7th anniversary of Batman and love it intensely. THIS IS NOT MY ARTWORK.

The art in comic books to me are either a hit or miss. This artist is definitely a hit to me. This is just a series of portraits, but his style is something to be desired. The artist is Kris Anka and he is well known for his work with X force and the Uncanny X-Men. Check this out.

Journal Entry # 2

The other day i went to the dirt car track with my dad. It was a fun time watching the cars drift around each turn, but as they drove i could only think of the paint jobs. Each car had vibrant numbers in bright neon colors that were for a good purpose but were a bit much, The neon is to reflect light when they drive in the night but it kind of killed the cool paint jobs. There was one car though that i thought had done it right. It was only in grayscale and used the unique angles of a dirt car to its advantage. Instead of the usual bubble numbers and lettering it slanted each number and gave it hard angles. I could not find a photo of the car, but its worth a share.

When the class first started I always try to find out how this class will be beneficial to me in the long run. Not only is it a required class, but id like to know what opportunities can be found in the job market. This is what I found.
